Vacancy : For the post of Epidemiologist
The SAARC Tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS Center (STAC) is a regional institution under the South
Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), dedicated to combating tuberculosis (TB)
and HIV/AIDS in the SAARC region through research, capacity building, policy advocacy, and
technical support to member states.
STAC is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Epidemiologist to contribute to its mission of
advancing scientific research and evidence-based interventions for TB and HIV/AIDS control.
The Epidemiologist will design, implement, and manage epidemiological database, collecting
and analyzing regional statistical data and support the development of regional public health
policies and programs.

Post: Epidemiologist- (One)
Period: Three Years
Level: Professional
Age: Below 50 years of age as of the date of application call
Location: Bhaktapur, Nepal
Minimum Qualification:
a) Medical Graduation, M.B.B.S. and
b) Master’s Degree in Epidemiology or in Public Health
Experience:
a) Minimum 5 years’ experience in infectious diseases surveillance or epidemiological research.
Preference will be given to the candidates with extensive experience analysis.
b) At least 2 year or more experience in Tuberculosis and/or HIV/AIDS Surveillance or epidemiological research.
c) Experience in research design, planning and implementation.
d) Experience in database design, data management and data
e) Experience with database and statistical analysis software.
f) Experience in statistical modeling considered an asset.
g) Experience in conducting training considered as an asset.

Job Description:
a) To design and manage a database for housing epidemiological data on tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS.
b) To collect epidemiological data on Tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS in the Member States.
c) To monitor, maintain and evaluate the statistical data on Tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS.
d) To update all relevant statistical data on Tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS.
e) To prepare research and surveillance protocols, reports and papers for publication.
f) To organize and deliver training to various levels of professional staff on Tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS epidemiology.
g) To provide technical support to other professionals at the SAARC Regional Tuberculosis Centre and collaborating institutions.
