Tuberculosis Control in SAARC Region an Update
TB update 2022
Annual Reports on TB situation of the SAARC Region (TB Updates) includes information on population coverage by DOTS, case detection and treatment outcome of SAARC Member States and challenges ahead. These reports have been prepared on the basis of information collected from SAARC Member States and reviewing other documents including WHO Report on Global TB Control. Tuberculosis continues to be a public health problem in the world despite the availability of extremely effective treatment regimens. Moreover, MDR-TB and HIV/AIDS are emerging threats for tuberculosis control. SAARC Region continues to make a considerable contribution to the global efforts towards the elimination of TB.
